Description of Starting, Charging & Battery

The start-up and charging device for your car is involved in controlling several electrical processes to start and keep the engine running on your car. The starting system consists of the car battery, a starter motor and an engine starting solenoid, while the charging system consists of an alternator and voltage regulator. The charging mechanism is responsible for the energy distribution in the entire electrical cycle while preserving the charge of the battery. The battery provides the electric power required to get the vehicle going. The cycle starts with turning the ignition on.The starting device then sends power from the battery to the starter solenoid to the starting engine which turns the engine to start the internal combustion cycle. The alternator powers the vehicle’s other electrical components while the regulator regulates the voltage supplied for each device. The regulator also ensures that the alternator continues charging the battery so that the whole process can proceed.

Benefits of Starting, Charging & Battery

Slow cranking engines and dim headlights will sometimes point to a problem with the start and charging system of your car. Since the battery is required to power the rest of the electrical system for the electrical charge, a weak or dead battery may also prevent your car from starting. If a jump start fails to restart your battery and the starting mechanism, our staff will need to take a closer look at the other starting and charging system components to decide whether or not you need a new starter or an alternator. To ensure proper working order, all components inside the starting and charging system of your vehicle are required, and a bad link between them will make the entire electrical process useless. If you have trouble starting your vehicle or holding its power even after attempting a jump start, then allow our service staff to test your vehicle today.
